Paul Daley to Fight “Cyborg” Santos at July 30th “Fedor vs. Henderson”

By FCF Staff

Paul Daley and Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos will look to get back on track against each other, as Strikeforce announced last night that the two welterweights will square off at the promotion’s July 30th “Fedor vs. Henderson” event in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. The card, which will be headlined by a bout between Fedor Emelianenko and Dan Henderson, will be hosted by the Sears Centre Arena.

Daley (27-10-2) is coming off a failed bid to win the Strikeforce welterweight belt as he was stopped in the first round by the promotion’s champion Nick Diaz on April 9th. The loss ended the British slugger’s four fight winning streak which included knockout victories over Scott Smith and Yuya Shirai.

Santos (18-14) will also be looking to rebound from a defeat at the hands of Diaz, who submitted the BJJ black belt in the second round on January 29th. Santos was coming off back-to-back stoppage victories over Marius Zaromskis and Daniel Zarate at the time.

Other bouts that are scheduled for the July 30th card include women’s welterweight champion Marloes Coenen vs. Meisha Tate and light-heavyweight Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal vs. Roger Gracie.
