Petr Yan Confirms Incurring Serious Knee Injury at UFC 299
By FCF Staff
Petr Yan recorded a pivotal win at UFC 299. But, unfortunately for the former featherweight champ, it looks like he’ll be sidelined for multiple months.
Yan faced rising bantamweight, Song Yadong at the recent event, and worked his way to a unanimous decision win. The victory ended a three-fight, losing skid for Yan.
But, more recently, Yan announced via social media that he incurred injuries to his knee and groin at UFC 299, and will require surgery.
So MRI confirmed acl rupture, meniscus tear and groin injury. Surgery is scheduled for tomorrow. Nothing will break me, I’m determined to come back stronger than ever in no time

The 31-year-old Yan (17-5) has fought just two times since 2022. The Russian fighter competed twice in 2021 and 2020, respectively.
Due to the nature of Yan’s injuries, it’s very likely the renowned fighter will not compete again until 2025.
