After months of speculation regarding the future of Bellator MMA, the Professional Fighters League has announced that it has acquired the promotion.

In addition to announcing the acquisition, PFL founder Donn Davis confirmed that a champions versus champions card will be planned next year. Bellator will be rebranded to the Bellator International Champions Series, which will operate under the PFL banner.

It’s being reported that fighters under Bellator contract will be eligible to compete in PFL cards and tournaments.
