Cage Warriors often cites how the promotion is a pipeline for talent heading to the UFC. But, recently the PFL confirmed it has signed former Cage Warriors champ and highly touted prospect, Paul Hughes.

The 27-year-old Hughes (11-1) competed at Cage Warriors 170 earlier this month and stopped Fabiano Silva in the opening round. The bout was Hughes’ second, since he vacated Cage Warrior’s featherweight title to pursue a run at lightweight.

The only person to defeat Hughes to date is fellow, former Cage Warriors champ, Jordan Vucenic. The latter defeated Hughes by split decision in 2020, before Hughes avenged that loss in 2022 with a unanimous decision victory.
