Just days before Strikeforce will hold its latest Challengers event in Las Vegas, Nevada, the promotion has announced that James “JP” Reese has stepped in for the injured Isaac Vallie-Flagg, and will fight lightweight Bobby Green.

The November 18th Challengers card will be hosted by The Pearl at the Palms Casino and will be broadcast live on Showtime.

Reese (5-1) will make his Strikeforce debut having won three straight fights, which includes a unanimous decision win over Martin Brown at Bellator 50 in September. The American Top Team fighter  and experienced collegiate wrestler turned professional last year.

Green (16-5) is coming off a submission win over Charon Spain at Challengers 19 in September, as the former KOTC champion caught his opponent with a second round, arm-triangle-choke. Prior to the win, in Green’s Strikeforce debut in July, he lost by split decision to veteran Gesias “JZ” Cavalcante.

Friday’s Challengers card will feature a middleweight bout between Antwain Britt and Lumumba Sayers in the main event.
