By Timothy J. Gilbert

For the first time Fuel TV will premier “UFC 101: Gracie Jiu-Jitsu” tonight at 10 p.m. ET.

The show will feature Rener and Ryron Gracie who, according to an official release, will “explain the core positions, principles and techniques of the martial art that’s been made famous in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.”

The brothers will run through various positions, holds and submissions during their 30 minute segment.

The members of the legendary Gracie clan commented on what this particular form of martial arts focuses on,

“In Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, we aim to win the fight in a series of phases, including closing the distance, executing the takedown, achieving the dominant position, and finishing the fight,” Rener said.

These highlighted members of the Gracie family, which is considered by many to be pioneers of this martial arts technique, will also lend tidbits of advice passed down to them,

“This is what our Grandfather says about choke holds: There are no tough guys, everyone goes to sleep [in a choke hold],” Rener said.

“UFC 101: Gracie Jiu-Jitsu” will serve as the third educational UFC promotion and succeeds “UFC 101: The Fundamentals” and “UFC 101: The Moves.”
