Abu Dhabi Sensation To Fight At Rings!

Abu Dhabi Sensation to fight at RINGS!
By Eduardo Alonso

Brazilian Top Team member Ricardo Arona, who won the Abu Dabhi grappling tournament in both the absolute, and the 88 to 98kg division, will be facing Japanese fighter Hiromitsu Kanehara in the next RINGS event.
Kanehara, who already lost to two Top Team members (Mario Sperry and Minotauro Nogueira), will now test his skills against the current grappling sensation in the world of mixed martial arts.
Ricardo Arona impressed with his performance at Abu Dhabi this year, and FCF was told that he is already training hard for this upcoming fight at RINGS. Let’s see now if Arona can show his enormous talent under
the peculiar MMA rules of RINGS in Japan.

From the event’s promoter:

Rage in the Cage XXVII:
Fan Appreciation Night

RITC XXVII
Saturday April 28, 2001
Doors Open: 5:30 PM
Fight Time: 8:00 PM
Celebrity Theatre
Phoenix, Arizona

Many local Fight Teams will showcase their fighters in Rage in the Cage XXVII. Promoter Roland Sarria is very excited about this special event because many local Academies will be making their RITC debut. This event will feature at least 16 fights.

In order to thank all the RITC fans who have supported this event over the past three years, RITC XXVII has been designated as Fan Appreciation Night. Admission price will be only $20 with open seating anywhere in the arena on a first-come basis (the only exception to this is the first 7 rows of VIP seating which will cost $35 and consists of only 108 seats). To accommodate a large crowd, the doors will open at 5:30 PM. Former Oakland Raider cheerleader, KC, will provide pre-fight musical entertainment and Celebrity Theatre has graciously agreed to institute a 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM “Happy Hour” during which Budweisers will sell for only $1.50.

Arizona Senate Bill #1311 has been signed into law and will become effective on July 1, 2001. Promoter Roland Sarria is looking forward to working with the Arizona Athletic Commission. With official sanctioning, RITC will be able to go to the next level and the RITC events will be better than ever.
