ACB 49: Eduard Vartanyan to Face Alexandr Shabliy in Headliner

By Press Release

This Saturday Absolute Championship Berkut land for the second time this year in Rostov-On-Don with a card lined with some of their most exciting fighters and a headline fight between two of the most dynamic and devastating lightweights in the division.

Topping the bill is the highly anticipated contender fight between Eduard Vartanyan and home-town hero Alexandr Shabliy. Vartanyan has been a regular on the ACB roster and his all-action style has marked him as a firm fan favorite. He will be by far the biggest challenge Shabliy has faced to date. That is a sentence that is not unfamiliar to the young fighter from Rostov and each time he has heard it he has risen to the occasion by defeating 15 of his 17 opponents and all inside the distance. All eyes will be on this fight as the winner may very well find himself fighting for ACB gold in their next outing.

The rest of the card is full of global talent as well. Ex-WSOF champion Steve Carl makes his debut with the promotion and takes on one of their best in Beslan Isaev. Beslan has a hugely impressive record of 34 wins with just 8 losses and he will be a dangerous animal as he is looking to bounce back from a tough defeat to another American Brett Cooper.

In the middleweight division two hard hitters come together as Mikhail Kolobegov takes his first steps into the cage against Hussien Kushagov and ACB 49 also has an epic flyweight battle between previous Bellator title challenger Anthony Leone who will look to impose his will on previous ACB title challenger and one of Fight Club Berkuts most exciting prospects Rasul Albaskhanov in another battle that could have title implications.

Other talents to watch out for are the return of Marahbek Karginov who will test his BJJ against the far more experienced Brazilian Diego Marlon plus we have a fight that may well steal the show as Shark Top Team fighter from Poland, Damian Szmigielski takes on the awkward and ever dangerous Evgeniy Lazuko.

Yet again ACB are bringing fans a card full of talent from around the globe who will all put it on the line this Saturday in Rostov-On-Don.
