Aggression FC promoter Darren Owen has announced that the organization has cut ties with the management of featherweight prospect Graham Spencer, after it was announced today that the fighter has signed with the Maximum Fighting Championship.

Earlier in the week Aggression FC released a statement relaying that it had signed Spencer to a contract, however, just today, the MFC announced that it had done the same.

Hours later, Owen released a statement through Aggression’s publicist that the promotion would no longer deal with Spencer’s management, Echelon Fighter Management and Darcy McBride, due to what he alleged was “absolute malicious misrepresentation.”

According to Owen, he was assured by McBride that Spencer would be cleared of a champion’s clause he had with another organization (Battlefield Fight League) and that further, Spencer had signed to fight for Aggression FC.  As a result, the promotion announced news of Spencer’s signing earlier in the week, and that the featherweight  would take on Adam Lorenz in his Aggression debut.

Further, Owen claims that McBride failed “to send in the signed contract, and then proceeds to hold it hostage while he entertains other offers.”

When contacted by Full Contact Fighter, McBride responded by saying: “We have moved forward with what is best for Graham and are excited to help ring in the 145 pound division in the Maximum Fighting Championship in October.”

After word broke today that Spencer had signed with the MFC, the fighter’s trainer, Impact MMA owner John Punt, confirmed to Full Contact Fighter that the deal with the MFC was official. More recently, Punt confirmed to FCF that he is not Spencer’s manager as was first reported.
