UFC featherweight Akira Corassani

The Ultimate Fighter season 14 cast member Akira Corassani (9-3) of Gothenburg, Sweden will meet Jason Young (8-5) of Britain on the preliminary fight card of UFC on FUEL TV 2 at Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden on April 14.

Coached by Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu master Renzo Gracie, Corassani, stood out on the Spike TV reality series, in which he reached the semifinal round of competition, as an outspoken and controversial figure.

After an injury prevented him from fighting on the series finale, Corassani returned to competition last February in an independent promotion in his homeland and was TKO’d at the hands of Paul Reed.  The loss brought to an end Corassani’s six-fight win streak.

Following two tries, Young is still looking for his first win in the world’s top MMA promotion.  He suffered back-to-back losses at the hands of Dustin Poirier and Michihiro Omigawa at UFC 131 and UFC 138, respectively.
