Alistair Overeem, Josh Barnett Advance to Strikeforce HW Grand-Prix Semis

By FCF Staff

Alistair Overeem avenged his 2006 submission loss to Fabricio Werdum tonight in Dallas, Texas, by working his way to a unanimous decision win over the renowned submission artist. Two of the three judges scored all three rounds in the Strikeforce heavyweight champion’s favor, while one judge awarded a frame to Werdum.

With the win Overeem advances to the semi-finals of Strikeforce’s World Heavyweight Grand-Prix and will face Antonio Silva.
