Andrei Arlovki’s UFC roster spot was almost certainly on the line at UFC Fight Night 120, so, it’s understandable the former heavyweight champ’s thrilled he came out on top.

The 38 year-old Arlovski took on the rising Junior Albini on Saturday, and emerged with a unanimous decision win. Heading into the bout, Arlovski had lost five straight fights.

Following his latest win, which was the 26th of his memorable career, Arlovski had this to say about the bout, and when he’d like to fight again (quotes via MMA Junkie):

“Finally my hard work pays off and for the first time in a long, long time I stick to my game plan,” Arlovski said. “It was not 100 percent, but 95 percent. I kept my hands up. Coach told me, ‘Don’t clinch,’ but I clinched a couple times. I’m very happy now.”

“I want to go back home to my wife and my son, but I think I’ll be ready by February or March,” Arlovski relayed. “Of course it’s up to Dana White and the UFC. 2016 sucks for me, beginning and middle of the year in 2017 was same thing. Finally I broke the streak of losing fights.”

The 26 year-old Albini was riding a 10 fight winning streak leading up to Saturday’s card. UFC Fight Night 120 took place in Norfolk, Virgnia.
