Antonio Rogerio Nogueira Off UFC 133 Card Due to Injury

By FCF Staff

The  injury woes of the Ultimate Fighting Championship are continuing, as the promotion has announced that Antonio Rogerio Nogueira has been forced to withdraw from his upcoming August 6th bout with Rich Franklin due to injury. No details regarding the nature of Nogueira’s injury were given in the announcement.

A replacement bout is expected to be named soon according to the UFC official site.

Last week the UFC announced that scheduled main event competitor Phil Davis would no longer fight Rashad Evans due to a knee injury. Former light-heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz has agreed to step in for Davis.

Some of the other bouts scheduled for UFC 133 include Vitor Belfort vs. Yoshihiro Akiyama, Rory MacDonald vs. Mike Pyle, and Jorge Rivera vs. Alessio Sakara.

UFC 133 will be hosted by The Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
