BAMMA has announced that the promotion’s heavyweight champion, Mark Godbeer, will compete in Rizin Fighting Federation’s 100 kilogram Grand Prix tournament, which will get underway on December 29th. The competition will conclude on New Year’s Eve in Saitama, Japan.

Godbeer (10-2) is coming off a second round, stoppage win over Paul Taylor in June, and is 3-2 in his last five fights.

“This was too good an opportunity to say no to and a huge honour that BAMMA selected me to represent the Promotion and the UK in the tournament. Tell the others in the tournament ‘Godbeer is coming'”, the fighter relayed in a press release from BAMMA.

Rizing is a new promotion that is headed by former PRIDE boss, Nobuyuki Sakakibara. Jungle Fight champion Bruno Henrique Cappelozza has also been announced as a competitor for the upcoming, heavyweight tourney.
