Bellator 110: Jackson-M’Pumbu, Lawal-Zayats Confirmed For Light-Heavyweight Tourney

By FCF Staff

Bellator has announced that the promotion’s February 28th card in Uncasville, Connecticut will feature two high profile fights, as “Rampage” Jackson will take on Christian M’Pumbu and “King Mo” Lawal will battle Mikhail Zayats. Both fights will be part of the promotion’s latest light-heavyweight tournament opening round.

Jackson (33-11) is coming off a stoppage win over Joey Beltran at Bellator 108 in November, while M’Pumbu (18-5-1) hasn’t fought since last February, when he lost the title by decision to Attila Vegh.

“This is what Bellator is all about,” Rampage said in a press release from the promotion. “I’ve never felt better, and now it’s about getting the belt. Bellator is all about the tournaments, and if that’s what you need to do to get that belt, that’s what I’m going to do. M’Pumbu is up first, and when I finish him, it’s King Mo or Zayats, and then it’s onto the belt, simple as that.”

Lawal (11-3) is looking to rebound from a UD loss to Emanuel Newton, while Zayats (22-7) tapped out Aaron Rosa at Bellator 103 in his lasting outing, which took place on October 11th.

“I’m not going to sit here and say I’m changing up my whole game plan, and you are going to see a new fighter,” Lawal noted. “That’s just not me. I know what I do, I know who I am, and that’s who you are going to see on February 28th, plain and simple. Me. It’s all about getting that belt.”

The main card for the February 28th event will be broadcast on SPIKE.
