Bellator 131: Wanderlei Silva Pulled From Pre-Fight Festitivities
By FCF Staff
A day after Bellator announced that Wanderlei Silva would attend a pre-fight event this Friday in San Diego, the promotion has announced that the UFC vet and MMA legend will no longer participate.
Silva was scheduled to attend a promotional event at a Dave & Busters in San Diego on Friday night, but on Tuesday, Bellator announced:
Due to prior contractual obligations, Wanderlei Silva will not be able to participate in #Bellator131's pre-promotion this week

The cancellation comes not long after Silva announced he was retiring from fighting, and cited the UFC’s treatment of fighters as a reason why. Earlier in the year, the former PRIDE champ was suspended for life by the Nevada Commission, after failing to take a random drug test.
Bellator 131 will go down in San Diego on Saturday night and will feature a light-heavyweight bout between Tito Ortiz and Stephan Bonnar in the main event.
