Bellator 134: Liam McGeary Ends Reign of Emanuel Newton

Liam McGeary narrowly defeated Emanuel Newton tonight at Bellator 134, and in doing so, the British fighter ended the American’s reign as light-heavyweight champ.
The undefeated fighter spent much of the bout on his back, but McGeary constantly threatened Newton with triangle-choke and armbar attempts from the bottom. After the grueling, competitive fight, it was announced that McGeary had secured the title via a unanimous decision.
With the victory, McGeary improves his record to 10-0, while Newton’s falls to 25-8-1.
