Armed with a five fight winning streak, Jesse Brock will return to the Bellator cage on May 20th, and the bantamweight’s hoping to set the table for a nice, new contract.

Brock is scheduled to fight Olly Bradstreet at Bellator 155 on that date, which will take place in the veteran’s hometown of Boise, Idaho. The fight will mark the first time Brock has fought since last July, when he decisioned Joe Murphy at RFA 27.

After a RFA title fight failed to materialize, Brock elected to sign a one fight deal with Bellator. Recently the 21-8 fighter appeared on Full Contact Fighter Radio, and while Brock relayed he’s always been interested in signing with the UFC, he’d also sign a new contract with Bellator.

“I had a good time in Bellator before,” said Brock, who has fought for Bellator twice, and has gone 1-1 with the Viacom owned promotion. “I had an agreement with them and it ran its course, and we went in a different direction, but Bellator’s doing a lot of good things. Obviously the ability to have sponsors is a nice one. They’ve got a strong bantamweight division. I’d love to get in the mix there.”

“I think a lot of guys in my position don’t really know what the criteria is to getting a chance in the UFC,” Brock noted, while discussing the importance of having additional organizations like Bellator. “There’s a lot of guys that I feel are a lot less deserving than myself. It’s just kind of nice to have a viable competitor, someone that you can challenge yourself with. At the end of the day for me, I still want challenging fights. I still want challenging fights and I want to be able to test myself against elite fighters, and Bellator has a lot of them….If they want to step up and offer me a good deal, after I get this win, I’ll be all for it.”

In Bradstreet, Brock will face a man who has competed in over 50 fights, and has won three straight.

“I’m expecting him to just be difficult everywhere,” Brock said about Bradstreet (39-12). “I think I would be foolish to think otherwise, but I still see myself as having the advantage in all areas.”

Bellator 155 will be hosted by the CenturyLink Arena in Boise, and in the main event, Melvin Manhoef will face Rafael Carvalho. The main card will be broadcast on Spike.
