Bellator 177: Leandro Higo Reports There’s “No Extra Pressure”, Despite Short Notice Bout With Eduardo Dantas
By FCF Staff
Although Leandro Higo is about to face one of the world’s best bantamweights on Friday, and will do so on short notice, but the LFA champ says it’s business as usual.
Higo is booked to fight Bellator champ Eduardo Dantas, in a bout that will take place in Budapest, Hungary. Higo was tapped as a replacement last month, after Darrion Caldwell had to withdraw due to injury.
Recently the promotion held a press conference in advance of Bellator 177, and Higo had this to say (quote via Bellator press release):
“Thank you to Bellator for the opportunity. Thank you, Budapest, for the reception. I’m very happy to be here and I’m looking forward to putting on a good show this Friday!”
“I feel no extra pressure because I’m here to do what I love, which is fighting. I’m looking forward to winning another championship belt.”
The 28 year-old Higo is riding an eight fight winning streak heading into the contest.
