Bellator newcomer Alexis Vila ended Joe Warren’s five fight win streak and season five bantamweight tourney run last night in Canton, Ohio, by knocking out the promotion’s featherweight champion shortly into round one. The American Top Team fighter put away Warren with a punishing left hook to advance to the semifinals of the Bellator’s season five bantamweight tourney. With the win, Vila improved his record to 10-0, while Warren’s slipped to 7-2.

“There’s nobody that can stop me from becoming the next Bellator Bantamweight World Champion,” Vila was quoted saying in a press release from the promotion. “I feel like the belt is already mine. I just have to beat up a few guys before I get to take it home.”

Eduardo Dantas, Marcos Galvao and Ed West were the other winners in the tournament’s opening round, which will continue October 22nd.

Here are the results from the Bellator 51 MTV 2 broadcast.

Alexis Vila def. Joe Warren via KO (punch) – R1, 1:04

Eduardo Dantas def. Wilson Reis via KO (flying knee) – R2, 1:02
