If it ends up being Eddie Alvarez’s last Bellator appearance, he’ll exit the promotion in memorable fashion, as the renowned lightweight knocked out Patricky “Pitbull” Freire with a stunning head kick tonight in Windsor, Ontario.

It didn’t take long for Alvarez to stun Freire in the Bellator 76 headliner, but after he dropped the noted fighter with a hard right hand, the Brazilian quickly got back up and started returning fire. Freire appeared to clip Alvarez with a left hook that sent him backpedaling along the fence, however, the American recomposed himself and re-engaged.

Not long after, as Freire was along the cage, Alvarez blasted him to the head with right head kick that instantly floored the lightweight. After several more follow up punches, and the referee’s intervention, Alvarez jumped over the cage fence, hugged his wife and ran into the crowd to celebrate.

The 28 year-old-fighter is set to enter free-agency, and due to his extensive resume and 24-3 record, Alvarez should garner plenty of attention on the free agent market.
