Bellator 139 has received a compelling heavyweight fight, as the promotion has announced that Cheick Kongo will battle former champ, Alexander Volkov. The upcoming card will take place June 26th at the Kansas Star Arena in Mulvane.

Kongo (22-10-2) will be looking to return to the win column, following a split decision loss to “King Mo” Lawal in February. Prior to that the UFC vet scored consecutive wins over Lavar Johnson and Eric Smith.

Volkov (24-5) is also coming off a split decision loss, as “Drago” lost by that margin to Tony Johnson earlier this month. Volkov had won five straight prior to the defeat.

Bellator 139 will also feature lightweights Dave “The Caveman” Rickels (16-3) vs. John “The Natural” Alessio (35-17) and former Bellator MMA featherweight champion Pat “Paddy Mike” Curran (20-7) vs. Goiti Yamauchi (18-2).

The main card for Bellator 139 will be broadcast on SPIKE.
