Bellator has announced the headlining fights for its upcoming, July 16th card in London, England, as Kimbo Slice will battle James Thompson in the main event, and Josh Koscheck will face Paul Daley in the co-headliner. Both bouts are rematches.
Slice (6-2) and Thompson (20-16) fought for the first time in 2008 for Elite XC, and the latter was stopped in the third round. Most recently, Slice earned a TKO win over DADA 5000, but after the bout he reportedly tested positive for the steroid nandrolone.
Bellator President Scott Coker appeared on SportsCenter recently, and during the segment, he said Slice will be clear to compete, since Texas officials have suspended the fighter for just 90 days.
Daley (38-13-2) and Koscheck (17-10) battled in 2010, and the latter won the bout via unanimous decision. Immediately after the contest, Daley attempted to sucker punch Koscheck, and he was banned by the UFC for his actions.
Bellator 158 will be hosted by the O2 Arena in London.
