Bellator Confirms March 7th Main Card, Dantas to Defend Title Versus Silva
By FCF Staff
Bellator has begun to announce match-ups for the promotion’s latest season, and today it’s confirmed the main card for it’s March 7th event.
The upcoming card, which will be hosted by the WinStar World Casino in Oklahoma, will feature bantamweight champ Eduardo Dantas taking on Rafael Silva.
Dantas (15-3) is coming off a knockout win over Marcos Galvao last February, while Silva (21-3) worked his way to a UD win over Anthony Leone in October.
“I’ve said all along I want to prove that I’m the true Bellator champion, because being the Bellator Bantamweight World Champion is the achievement of a dream for me,” Dantas said in a press release from the promotion. “Rafael and I are friends, but Marcos Galvao and I are like brothers and I know I had a job to do then, and I know I have a job to do now.”
“I love Eduardo Dantas as a fighter and as a person,” Silva noted about his fellow Brazilian. “We are good friends and I always cheer for him when he fights. I really like this guy. As a fighter he is as good as someone can be, but I know what this fight means to me, and nothing is going to get in the way of that. Nothing.”
In addition, the March 7th card will feature the opening round of the promotion’s next heavyweight tournament. The competition will feature established vets like Lavar Johnson and former champ Alexander Volkov.
Here is the line-up for the event’s main card, which will be broadcast live on SPIKE TV.
