Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva finally met in the cage tonight at Bellator NYC, and as many expected would be the case, the latter had no answers for the wrestling of “The American Gangster”.

Although Silva dropped Sonnen at one point with a right hook, Sonnen dominated the fight with his wrestling and won a clear cut, decision.

In the co-headliner, Matt Mitrione knocked out Fedor Emelianenko in the opening round. Both heavyweights were sent to the deck, after landing simultaneous shots, but Mitrione recovered first and finished the legend with punches from above.

Michael Chandler is no longer Bellator’s lightweight champ. The explosive fighter injured his ankle early on into his bout with Brent Primus, and although Chandler wanted to fight on, the physicians would not let him continue.
