Bellator NYC: Fedor Emelianenko Discusses Future Following KO Loss

Fedor Emelianenko

By FCF Staff

Although Fedor Emelianenko’s return to the U.S. ended in violent fashion, last night at Bellator NYC, the 40 year-old legend plans to keep fighting.

Emelianenko took on Matt Mitrione in the co-main event, and after both men went down at the same time, the latter proceeded to finish “The Last Emperor” with punches from above.

At the post-fight presser, Emelianenko was asked if he plans to keep fighting, and the Russian star said “yes, because I am a fighter.” Emelianenko was also asked if he’d be interested in rematching Mitrione, and the former PRIDE champ said he is.

Last night’s defeat ended Emelianenko’s five fight winning streak, which included a controversial, decision win over Fabio Maldonado.
