After having a falling out with World Series of Fighting, UFC veteran Melvin Guillard has signed a multi-fight, multi-year deal with Bellator.

On Monday, the promotion announced that it has added the 32 year-old slugger to its roster. Guillard’s debut date and opponent have yet to be confirmed.

“We are excited to have Melvin coming onboard,” Bellator President Scott Coker said in the announcement. “With competitors the likes of Lightweight Champion Will Brooks, Michael Chandler, Marcin Held, Derek Anderson, Saad Awad, Dave Jansen and Patricky Pitbull on the roster already, the matchup possibilities for an exciting fighter like him are endless.”

The lightweight hasn’t fought since last November, when he lost via split decision to WSOF champ Justin Gaethje. Guillard, who missed weight both times he fought for WSOF, was heavily critical of the promotion in recent weeks, and claimed it reneged on a promise to book him for a fight earlier this year.

Guillard (32-14-2) was booked to fight Ozzy Dugulubgov at WSOF 20 in April, but after “The Young Assassin” failed to deliver his medicals, the organization pulled him from the bout. The New Orleans native has gone 2-2, with 1 no contest, in his last 5 scraps.
