Bisping Beats Down “Mayhem”, Dodson and Brandao “Ultimate Fighters”

Bisping

By FCF Staff

Jason “Mayhem” Miller’s return to the Octagon was violently spoiled by Michael Bisping tonight in Las Vegas, as his rival “Ultimate Fighter” coach outstruck and outscored the middleweight en route to a third round stoppage win.

Although Miller was able to get Bisping to the mat in round one, and control the British fighter from the top position, the charismatic fighter was unable to land any telling strikes. While Bisping came out aggressively in round two, Miller was tiring quickly already, and the TUF 14 coach began to pick him apart with punches.

As round three wore on, Bisping continued to batter away at the American, and after he gained top position on Miller and landed several hard punches, elbows and knees, the scheduled five round bout was brought to a halt.

In the finale of TUF 14 featherweight competition, Dennis Bermudez appeared on his way to victory, before Diego Brandao pulled off one of the show’s more memorable submissions. After getting dropped with a pounding right hand from Bermudez, Brandao managed to catch his opponent with a beautifully timed armbar as he swarmed in for the finish, and pulled out the win with just nine seconds left in round one.

Shortly into the TUF 14 bantamweight finale, John Dodson caught T.J. Dillashaw with a hard left hook and several follow up punches, to bring about ref Herb Dean’s intervention. Although the stoppage came as Dillashaw was scrambling to recover, and drew some boos from the crowd as a result, the bantamweight did appear to be unstable after the action was halted.

With their respective wins, Dodson and Brandao secured six fight contracts with the promotion.

Here are the complete results from tonight’s TUF 14 Finale card, which was hosted by the Pearl at the Palms Casino.
