Bobby Lashley Fighting Darrill Schoonover for Shark Fights Heavyweight Belt

Lashley

By FCF Staff

Shark Fight Promotions has announced today that former pro wrestler and Strikeforce vet Bobby Lashley will fight former “Ultimate Fighter” competitor Darrill Schoonover for  his heavyweight title, November 11th in Lubbock, Texas.

Lashley (6-1) will be competing for the first time since March, when he worked his way to a unanimous decision win over John Ott at Titan Fighting Championship 17. Prior to that, the 35 year-old-heavyweight was stopped by Chad Griggs, while competing for Strikeforce last August.

Lashley was scheduled to face Eddie Sanchez at Titan FC 19 in July, but withdrew from the bout due to personal reasons. The upcoming November 11th bout will be the first on a three fight deal Lashley signed with Shark Fights.

Schoonover (11-5) is coming off a TKO win over Adam Padilla in July, after losing five straight bouts from December, 2009, through April of this year. The veteran stopped Rex Richards in May, 2009, to win the Shark Fights heavyweight belt.

Shark Fights has also announced that Tony Bonello (16-1-1) will take on David Roberts (5-8) for the promotion’s light-heavyweight championship on November 11th.

Bonello hasn’t fought since February, 2010, when he submitted fellow vet Mike Bourke, while Roberts last competed in July, 2009, and stopped Chris Skoglund.

The Shark Fights 21 card will be hosted by The Fair Park Coliseum and will be broadcast via tape delay on FUEL TV.
