Strikeforce heavyweight Brett “The Grim” Rogers was released on $100,000 bail after being arrested and jailed on charges of assaulting his wife in their home in Apple Valley, Minn.

The 30-year-old Rogers has been charged with third degree assault, domestic assault by strangulation and pattern of stalking behavior.  All three charges are felonies in Dakota County.  Rogers was also charged with endangerment of a child, a misdemeanor.

According to the police report, Rogers claimed he had been drinking before engaging in an argument with his wife.  He also stated that his wife punched him and that he punched her back.

Rogers’ first court appearance was today.  He is due back in court Friday at 11 a.m.

Rogers was last seen in action against Josh Barnett in a Strikeforce promoted bout at American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas on June 18.  The matchup was contested as a Strikeforce World Grand Prix Heavyweight Tournament quarterfinal round bout.

Barnett forced Rogers to tap out from an arm triangle choke in the second round of their matchup.  The loss was Rogers’ third in his last four appearances.
