Bryan Caraway Comments on Miesha Tate’s Retirement, Says Former Champ’s “Heart’s Not in it”
By FCF Staff
Miesha Tate shocked the MMA world this past weekend by announcing she’s retiring, but it sounds like her boyfriend Bryan Caraway wasn’t surprised by the move.
Tate lost via unanimous decision to Raquel Pennington at UFC 205, and afterwards, the former bantamweight champ announced “it’s not my time anymore”. Tate lost the title via first round submission to Amanda Nunes in July, after choking out Holly Holm this past March to become champion.
Following Tate’s announcement on Saturday, Caraway told Bloody Elbow.com the following:
“She’s not herself lately,” Caraway said. “She looked like that in the Nunes fight. She said it last night — her heart’s not in it anymore, so she didn’t care to try.”
The 30 year-old Tate finishes out her fighting career having gone 18-7.
