Although Caros Fodor went 3-1 while fighting for One Championship, and has nothing but praise for the Asian based promotion, he’s looking forward to fighting in North America once again.

Recently, World Series of Fighting announced it has signed the 31 year-old Fodor to a multi-fight deal. The AMC Pankration lightweight appeared on Full Contact Fighter Radio last week, and while doing so, he discussed his decision to go with WSOF.

“Me and One FC, we departed on amazing terms,” said Fodor, whose WSOF debut has yet to be announced. “They treated me very well and I enjoyed every single fight I had with them. But the weight cut, and the travel, you know, the jet lag…It’s been so long since I fought back home, being with my family, I really kind of missed.”

“Also corners and stuff, when I bring them over it’s like $1,600 airplane tickets to fly that far, so, we left on great terms and I loved the experience. They treated me very well. I just wanted to come back to the United States and World Series of Fighting made me a great offer that I’m extremely happy with, so that’s the reasoning.”

During Fodor’s run with One Championship, he defeated Seung Ho Yang, Vincent Latoel, and Willy Ni. Fodor’s only loss during that time came via decision to Vuyisile Colossa.

While Fodor had success fighting overseas, and clearly enjoyed it, there can be drawbacks from only competing abroad.

“I definitely had trouble with sponsorships because of that, because of the airing,” said Fodor, while referring to the fact that One cards are streamed online here in North America, and often at a very early time.

“But, that really didn’t much to do with it. I really have nothing negative to say about them. The experience with travelling, everything I got to see, the whole experience was just awesome and that won’t change it. It’s just that coming home is definitely nice because a lot of my friends and family haven’t been able so see me fight in a quite a while.”

The UFC and Strikeforce vet heads to WSOF armed with a record of 10-4.
