Vitor Belfort was forced to withdraw from an upcoming bout with Chris Weidman, as a result of the Nevada Commission’s ban of testosterone replacement therapy, and now Chael Sonnen is saying his career could be in jeopardy because of the ruling.

The outspoken fighter, and TRT user, appeared on the latest “UFC Tonight” show Wednesday, and here is what Sonnen had to say about the NSAC’s recent ban:

“The first thing I need to do is reserve my right to change this answer in a few weeks if I need to. There are a lot of moving parts. I don’t have all the information. Bottom line is testosterone is out. If this retires guys, then it retires guys. The rules are the rules and they need to be followed. I’ve had to stop with the testosterone with the hope we can find a new ways of keeping my testosterone at the healthy levels. If it doesn’t work, I might have to stop the sport.”

Sonnen is scheduled to fight Wanderlei Silva on May 31st at a UFC Fight Night card in Brazil. The 36 year-old fighter is coming off a stoppage loss to Rashad Evans at UFC 167 in November.
