A 150 pound, catch-weight bout between former WEC competitor Chris Horodecki and fellow Canadian vet Brad Cardinal will now headline the October 19th, Score Fighting Series event in Sarnia, Ontario. “Bonesaw” Cardinal, who trains alongside UFC middleweight Nick Ring at Calgary’s Champion’s Creed gym, is a short notice replacement for Kalvin Hackney.

According to a press release from the promotion, Hackney has been forced to withdraw from the bout due to illness. Cardinal had been preparing for a King of the Cage card in Calgary this weekend.

Horodecki (18-4) will be looking to rebound from the stoppage loss he suffered versus Mike Richman at Bellator 64 in April. The renowned striker is 2-2-1 in his last five fights.

Cardinal (16-8) is coming off back-to-back wins over Tim Skidmore and Travis Briere, after losing bouts to vets Tony Hervey and Daron Cruickshank.

SFS has also announced that welterweight Sergej Juskevic (11-7) will fight Gerald “The Machine” Meerschaert (15-5) at the event.

The October 19th card will be hosted by Sarnia’s RBC Centre and will be broadcast on The Score Network and AXS TV.
