Chris Lytle Victorious In Last Pro Fight, Ben Henderson Outscores Jim Miller
By FCF Staff
Chris Lytle ended his memorable MMA career on a high note tonight in Milwaukee, as the 50 fight plus vet caught former welterweight contender Dan Hardy with a late, third round guillotine choke, to record his 31st professional win.
Throughout much of the bout, Lytle was able to out strike Hardy and beat the British fighter to the punch, except on a couple of occasions where Hardy managed to stun the 37 year-old-vet with counter strikes. Hardy stepped up his attacks in the third round, but after shooting in for a takedown with less than a minute remaining, Lytle managed to sink in the fight ending choke.
Afterwards, Lytle thanked the MMA community for their support, but reiterated the decision he announced earlier that tonight would be his last fight.
In the other feature attraction from tonight’s UFC Live on Versus card, Ben Henderson utilized his wrestling and a punishing top game to outscore lightweight contender Jim Miller for the unanimous decision win.
Early on, Miller threatened Henderson with repeated submission attempts, but the former WEC champion was able to defend the attacks and resume his own offense. As the fight wore on, Henderson was able to inflict more and more damage to the resilient Miller with ground-and-pound strikes, and when the final bell sounded there was little doubt that he had won the entertaining bout.
