Jose Aldo reportedly has four fights left on his current UFC deal, and according to his headcoach, the former champ wants to transition into pro-boxing when his contract’s done.

Aldo has yet to be booked for his next fight, after he was stopped by Max Holloway in June, in what as a unification title fight for the 145 belt. Recently the 30 year-old spent time training at renowned boxing trainer Robert Garcia’s gym in California, and Aldo’s coach, Andre Pederneiras, told MMA Fighting this:

“He’s training boxing because he has this dream of competing in professional boxing,” Pederneiras said. “If it was up to him, he’d fight all of his UFC fights (left on the contract) in three months and go box. He wants to box professionally.”

“He doesn’t want to stay inactive for a long time,” Pederneiras added, “and there’s both sides: he definitely wants to finish the contract.”

The Nova Uniao coach also mentioned that Aldo is interested in fighting Cub Swanson. The two fought back in 2009, and Aldo stopped the longtime contender in just eight seconds.
