Conor McGregor’s Coaches Report Champ is Fighting at UFC 197, But Stop Short on Confirming Opponent
By FCF Staff
Recently it’s been reported that Conor McGregor will fight Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 197. Although the UFC hasn’t confirmed the fight, McGregor’s coaches have, well sort of….
McGregor’s striking coach Owen Roddy appeared on “The MMA Hour” on Monday, and he reportedly relayed that “Notorious” is fighting on March 5th. Roddy said, however, that the featherweight champ’s opponent is “up in the air”.
Then, McGregor’s head coach, John Kavanagh, posted this follow up tweet:
well @rowdyowenroddy just put it perfectly. "we'll be there march 5th, doesnt matter who is opponent." that's all we can say #UFC197

UFC 197 is expected to take place in Las Vegas and to feature bantamweight champion Holly Holm taking on Miesha Tate. If McGregor doesn’t fight the lightweight champ at the upcoming event, he could be booked to face featherweight contender Frankie Edgar.
