Jordan Mein won’t have to wait long to get his second UFC bout under his belt, as the promotion has announced that the Canadian welterweight will fight Matt Brown, April 20th at UFC on FOX 7. Mein is stepping in for the injured Dan Hardy, who was originally scheduled to fight Brown at the event.

Mein is coming off a first round, stoppage of Dan Miller at UFC 158 last weekend, which was the rising fighter’s third straight win and Octagon debut. The 23 year-old is 9-1 in his last 10 bouts, with his only loss during that stretch coming to Tyron Woodley via split decision.

Brown (16-11), meanwhile, has won four bouts in a row and scored a second round, knockout over Mike Swick in his last appearance, which took place at UFC on FOX 5 in December. The last man to defeat the 32 year-old fighter is Seth Baczynski, who submitted him with a guillotine choke in November, 2011.

No details regarding the nature of Hardy’s injury have been announced yet.

UFC on FOX 7 will be hosted by the HP Pavilion in San Jose and will feature lightweight champion Benson Henderson versus Gilbert Melendez in the main event.
