Dan Hardy has been talking about returning to the Octagon, and if and when he does, “The Outlaw” says he’ll be looking for super fights rather than make a title run.

Hardy hasn’t fought now since September, 2012, when he decisioned Amir Sadollah. Since then, the former welterweight contender has been diagnosed with a rare heart condition, Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome. The heavy handed fighter will need medical clearance to fight once more.

The 33 year-old fighter has said he’s hopeful he’ll be cleared to fight again, and while discussing a possible return with MMA Junkie.com Radio, Hardy stated:

“It’s been an interesting three years,” Hardy said. “I’ve grown a lot. I’ve matured a lot. I have a different perspective on the sport and what I would want out of it. We had this conversation yesterday. I’m not interested in the belt or rankings anymore.

“I like the way the sport is moving into this area where we’re having a lot of superfights. I like superfights. If there are two guys I want to see fight, I’m not bothered by what weight class or what the rankings are. If I want to see them fight, that’s the fight that should be made. If there’s an overwhelming support for a matchup – I mean, when the (Conor) McGregor vs. (Nate) Diaz fight was made, who didn’t want to see that?”

The British fighter, who made his way to the UFC in 2008, currently carries a record of 25-10.
