Dan Henderson to Challenge Jon Jones Next

Henderson

By FCF Staff

Jon Jones will look to defeat yet another decorated fighter, as following his impressive unanimous decision win over Rashad Evans last night, the UFC has announced that he will fight former Strikeforce champ Dan Henderson next.

No details as to when the reigning light-heavyweight champion will fight Henderson have been confirmed.

The 41 year-old Henderson (29-8) has worked his way into another title shot by winning four straight fights, which includes victories over Renato Sobral, Rafael Cavalcante, Fedor Emelianenko and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua.

The last man to defeat the former Pride champion was Jake Shields, who scored a UD win over Henderson at a April, 2010, Strikeforce event.

With his UFC 145 performance Saturday, the 24 year-old Jones (16-1) has defeated four ex-champions in a row, with additional wins coming over Rua, Lyoto Machida, and Quinton Jackson.
