Dana White Believes Cain Velasquez Won’t be Sidelined For Long

Cain Velasquez

By FCF Staff

Cain Velasquez has been sidelined for multiple months in recent years, but according to Dana White, the former heavyweight champ shouldn’t be out long due to his latest injury.

Recently Velasquez was forced to withdraw from his rematch with Fabricio Werdum, which was scheduled for February 6th at UFC 196. Velasquez recently incurred a back injury.

According to a follow up report from MMA Fighting.com, White recently relayed on the Opie & Jim Norton show that Velasquez is only expected to be out four weeks. The heavyweight will reportedly undergo back surgery soon to repair an issue with his back.

Velasquez has fought just once now since 2013, and that was last June, when he was submitted by Werdum.
