Although Alistair Overeem has been stopped in three of his last four fights, it looks as though the heavyweight will get at least one more bout in the Octagon.

UFC President Dana White was asked about Overeem’s future on the latest edition of “UFC Tonight“, following the fighter’s stoppage loss to Ben Rothwell last weekend.

White had this to say about the 34 year-old vet (quote via FOX Sports 1 press release):

“He is still one of the top 10 ranked heavyweights in the world. We’ll give him another fight.”

Despite Overeem’s recent struggles, the fighter remains one of the UFC’s biggest names, thanks to his decorated record and a memorable, stoppage win over Brock Lesnar in 2011.

Overeem was ranked #7 prior to facing Rothwell, but following the loss he dropped three spots and is positioned at #10. Overeem (37-14) was coming off a unanimous decision win over Frank Mir in February.

The Dutch heavyweight arrived in the UFC in 2011 armed with an 11 fight undefeated streak.
