Following UFC 200, and Amanda Nunes’ stunning stoppage win over Miesha Tate, Dana White is reporting Ronda Rousey will fight for the title, when she returns.

Leading up to UFC 200, there was widespread speculation that a third fight between Rousey and Tate would be booked, provided the latter won. Nunes, however, put away Tate in the opening round with strikes.

It remains to be seen if and when Rousey will return to the Octagon, but following UFC 200, White said this on the post-fight, FOX Sports 1 show (quote via FOX Sports press release):

“She’s going to make that decision soon,” said White, while discussing when Rousey could return. “It could be this year, or early next year. Whoever the champ is, she’ll fight them.”

“It’s exciting. If Ronda comes back, she’ll get the next title shot. If Holly looks good on FOX in two weeks, we’ll see.”

Rousey hasn’t fought since November, when she was KO’d by Holly Holm. The latter is scheduled to fight Valentina Shevchenko on July 23rd.
