Dana White on Jon Jones: “The List Goes on And on of What Could Have Been”
By FCF Staff
It remains to be seen what type of disciplinary action Jon Jones receives, as a result of his latest USADA flag, but Dana White believes it could end up costing the fighter a legendary legacy.
Jones is facing a multi-year suspension, after testing positive for the anabolic steroid Turinabol this past summer. The former light-heavyweight champ, who has been sidelined several times due to suspensions and legal issues, has denied knowingly using banned substances.
Recently White was interviewed by The TSN MMA Show, and he had this to say about Jones, and what his latest issue with USADA could cost him (quote via MMA Fighting):
“[It would be the biggest waste of talent] ever. Ever, in all of sports. The guy is so talented and gifted, God knows what he’d be doing right now if he had never got in trouble. He could possibly be the heavyweight champion and have the defense record that couldn’t be broken. The list goes on and on of what could’ve been with Jon Jones.”
Jones reclaimed the 205 title in July by stopping Daniel Cormier, but due to his aforementioned USADA flag, the bout was overturned and “Bones” was stripped of the belt.
