Dana White Reports “Great Conversation” With Mark Hunt, Vet Reportedly Fighting Junior dos Santos at UFC 160

A Twitter campaign from fans of Mark Hunt appears to have paid off after all, as the heavyweight will reportedly step in for the injured Alistair Overeem at UFC 160, and square off with Junior dos Santos.
UFC President Dana White relayed earlier in the week that he had indeed offered Hunt (9-7) a chance to fight dos Santos (15-2) on May 25th, but that the fighter had turned down the bout.
White tweeted more recently, however: “Mark Hunt and I just got off the phone and had a GREAT conversation!!”, and MMA Fighting is reporting the bout with dos Santos is set.
It remains to be seen who Overeem will face when he returns from his quadriceps injury, as prior to the news regarding the Hunt and dos Santos bout, White had said Overeem would face the former champ this summer.
UFC 160 will be hosted by the MGM Grand Garden Arena on May 25th in Las Vegas, Nevada.
