It’s not clear when and who Conor McGregor will fight next in the Octagon. But, according to Dana White, the Irish star wants to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov, in the latter’s home country of Russia.

McGregor is preparing to box Floyd Mayweather on August 26th, and after that, the expectation is that the UFC’s lightweight champ will return to the Octagon. Recently White spoke with MMA Junkie, and while doing so, the UFC President said this:

“You know what Conor told me? He said, ‘I want Khabib in Russia,’” White said. “Isn’t he (expletive) awesome? He’s like, ‘I want Khabib, in Russia.’ He’s awesome. Conor McGregor is a (expletive) unicorn. There’s nothing like him. He’s working on boxing Floyd Mayweather and then he’s talking about fighting Khabib in Russia right after.”

White also acknowledged in the interview, however, that Nurmagomedov and fellow, top contender, Tony Ferguson need to fight. The two were booked to fight at UFC 209 in March, but Nurmagomedov ran into medical issues while cutting weight, and the bout was cancelled.
