Dana White Reports Conor McGregor’s “Not in Any of Our Plans For The Next Ten Months”
By FCF Staff
Recently Conor McGregor denied he’s told the UFC he wants to take a 10 month break, but Dana White insists that’s what the lightweight champ informed them.
Following McGregor’s championship win over Eddie Alvarez in November, White reported that the Irish star and expecting father plans on taking a 10 month break. But, in a recent interview, McGregor claimed he never said 10 months.
While speaking to the media in advance of tonight’s UFC 207 card, however, White said this (quote via MMA Junkie.com):
“Conor told me, ‘I’m not available for 10 months. We’re having a baby. My girl stresses out when I fight and I don’t want to put that on her while she’s pregnant.’ I love it. I respect it. I get it. Do your thing, buddy. And that’s it. He’s not in any of our plans for the next 10 months.”
Due to this, the UFC has reportedly been trying to book a bout between Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov, as well as the latter versus Jose Aldo.
