Following Georges St-Pierre’s historic win over Michael Bisping last month, he reported that he had issues maintaining his weight leading up to the fight, and now Dana White’s confirmed the fighter has colitis.

St-Pierre choked Bisping out in the third round of UFC 217, and in doing so, became just the fourth fighter to win titles in two different weight divisions. After the TUF 26 Finale last night, UFC President Dana White was asked about GSP’s next fight, and he told the media the star has been diagnosed with colitis.

According to E Medicine Health, colitis is the inflammation of the colon. Causes can include infections (food poisoning from E. coli, Salmonella), poor blood supply, and autoimmune reactions. Symptoms can include diarrhea, blood in the stool, frequent and small bowel movements, abdominal pain and cramping.

White didn’t disclose whether it’s known how serious GSP’s case is. The UFC executive also said St-Pierre will be “out for a minute”.
