Dana White Reports He’s Meeting With Conor McGregor to Put “Speed Bump” Behind Them

Conor McGregor

By FCF Staff

Conor McGregor remains without a scheduled fight, following his well documented rift with the UFC, but it sounds like that may change soon.

The Irish star was scheduled to fight Nate Diaz at UFC 200 on July 9th, but after McGregor refused to attend all the promotional appearances planned, the bout was cancelled. Since then, UFC President Dana White has said that he remains on good terms with the featherweight champ, but McGregor’s next bout has yet to be announced.

Recently White appeared on The Dan Patrick Show, however, and when asked for an update on McGregor, he stated  (quote via MMA Fighting.com):

“Conor and I have been talking every day,” White said. “We’re gonna have dinner next week. Our relationship is great. We’re gonna put the little speed bump in the road behind us and move forward. Everything is great.”

Patrick asked White what he thought about booking McGregor – Diaz II for UFC 202 in August, and the UFC President said “it sounds like a good idea”.

McGregor and Diaz fought in March, and the latter won the bout via submission.
