Dana White Reports Holly Holm Seems “Interested” in Fighting Cris “Cyborg”
By FCF Staff
Following Cris “Cyborg” Justino’s title cinching victory at UFC 214, it looks like the UFC is hoping to have the featherweight champ face Holly Holm.
Justino took on Tonya Evinger on Saturday night, and stopped the former Invicta FC bantamweight champ to secure the vacant, 145 title. After the card, White reported the following, while discussing who Justino could face next (quote via MMA Junkie):
“I was just talking to Holly Holm back there,” White said. “(I said,) ‘What do you think?’ It seems like she’s interested. I like Holly vs. Cyborg. I think it’s a good fight.”
Holm faced Germaine de Randamie for the inaugural, featherweight title in February and lost via a controversial, unanimous decision. De Randamie was stripped of the 145 title, however, after she refused to fight Justino.
UFC 214 took place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
